Frequently asked questions
we take the authentication of luxury watches very seriously to ensure that our clients receive genuine and high-quality timepieces. Our comprehensive authentication process includes the following steps:
- Initial Assessment: When we receive a watch, our team conducts a preliminary inspection to evaluate its overall condition and authenticity. This includes checking for any obvious signs of wear, damage, or counterfeit indicators.
- Detailed Examination: Our experienced horologists and watchmakers conduct a thorough examination of the watch. This involves:
- Verification of Serial Numbers: We check the serial and model numbers against different parts to ensure they match the watch's specifications.
- Movement Inspection: We open the case to inspect the movement, checking for the correct brand-specific markings, components, and overall condition.
- Exterior Inspection: We scrutinize the case, dial, hands, bracelet, and clasp for authenticity markers, such as engravings, hallmarks, and proper craftsmanship.
3. Reference Comparison: Using our extensive library of reference materials and databases, we compare the watch to authenticated examples to ensure all details align with the manufacturer's standards.
4. Testing and Calibration: The watch undergoes functional testing, including timekeeping accuracy and power reserve tests, to ensure it operates correctly. We also check for water resistance and any other specific features of the watch.
5. Documentation Review: If the watch comes with original papers, certificates, service papers or packaging, we verify their authenticity and match them to the watch.
6. Final Verification: Our team of experts conducts a final review, cross-checking all findings to ensure the watch is authentic. Only after passing this rigorous process is the watch approved for sale.
By adhering to this meticulous authentication process, we ensure that every luxury watch we buy o sell meets the highest standards of authenticity and quality, providing our clients with complete confidence in their purchase.
